- Independent advice
- No hidden agenda
- UK & Ireland wide
- Cards, EPOS & online payments

Why Businesses Come to Us
Independent payment advice, built around your business.
Save money
We identify where businesses may be overpaying and help them explore stronger-value payment options. Even small reductions in processing rates add up significantly across a full year of transactions.
Make sense of the market
Merchant services can be confusing, with dozens of providers, contract lengths and rate structures to compare. We simplify the options and focus on what actually fits your business, not what's easiest to sell.
Choose the right partners
We work with trusted service partners to help businesses move forward with confidence. Every introduction is based on fit for your business, not a fixed panel of preferred suppliers.
Ongoing support, not just a sale
Our relationship doesn't end once you're set up. We stay on hand if your circumstances change, a provider's pricing shifts, or you simply want a second opinion further down the line.
Solutions & Partners
Straightforward support across the areas that matter most.
Payment services cover more than just a card machine. Whether you take payments in person, online, by phone, or across several channels at once, here's how we help:
Card Payment Cost Reviews
We assess your current setup, uncover hidden charges, and benchmark your rates against stronger market options. We look at your statements line by line, including authorisation fees, PCI charges and minimum monthly charges that are easy to miss.
Terminal & EPOS Advice
We help you choose practical in-store payment and till solutions that match how your business actually trades. From countertop and portable terminals through to full EPOS and till systems, we help you avoid paying for features you'll never use.
Online & Remote Payments
From payment links to gateway setups, we help businesses take payments smoothly across web, phone, and invoice channels. That includes hosted checkout pages, recurring billing, and card-not-present setups for phone and mail-order businesses.
Provider Introductions
We connect you with trusted service partners when a better fit, better support, or better commercials are available. We only make an introduction when it's genuinely the right move for your business.
Business Funding
If you take card payments, a merchant cash advance can be a fast, flexible way to fund stock, staff, equipment or seasonal cashflow gaps. Repayments flex with your card sales, rather than a fixed monthly instalment.

Business Funding
Is your business ready for how customers will pay you tomorrow?
Small businesses may need help to increase revenue, attract and retain customers, or invest in inventory — and a merchant cash advance could help. Unforeseen costs, seasonal fluctuations and unexpected circumstances can all impact small business growth. A merchant cash advance offers short-term support to keep your business running smoothly, without the red tape of a traditional loan application.
See If Funding Could HelpWhat is a Merchant Cash Advance?
A merchant cash advance (MCA) is short-term funding for businesses that accept debit and credit card payments — an alternative to traditional small business loans. Lenders provide an upfront sum of money, which you then repay using a percentage of your card transaction sales, plus fees, so repayments flex with how your business is actually trading.

Regulation & Transparency
Why the payments market is changing, and how we help.
Every time someone uses a cash machine, transfers money, taps contactless, or gets paid, they're using a payment system. Payment systems are constantly evolving, and the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) exists to make sure they work well for everyone — challenging the industry to innovate and improve competition, so the UK benefits from world-leading payment systems. We take the same approach: by encouraging collaboration to solve problems, we aim for the best outcome for everyone, because effective competition in payments leads to better services for everyone.
The PSR launched its card-acquiring market review in 2018 amid concerns that card-acquiring services may not offer value for money for merchants. Its final report, published in November 2021, concluded that the market does not work well for small and medium-sized merchants, or larger merchants with an annual card turnover of up to £50 million. It identified features that restrict merchants' willingness and ability to search and switch between providers, and is working to improve outcomes by encouraging merchants to search, switch or negotiate; reducing the obstacles to switching; and pushing providers to offer better deals through greater pricing transparency.
We've built our approach around exactly this: encouraged to search and switch, or negotiate with your existing provider, we help reduce the obstacles to switching and work to secure better deals for merchants with greater transparency. New to card payments, or just weighing up your options? We can help with that too — take charge of your business and make point of sale easy.
How We Can Help
Clear, useful support without the hard sell.
Whether you are reviewing costs, changing provider, or simply want a second opinion, we help you move forward with more clarity and less wasted time. Many businesses stay with the same provider for years simply because reviewing the market feels time-consuming — we do that legwork for you, in plain English, without tying you into anything.

About Us
More than a payments business.
More Than Payments is a trusted provider of payment solutions, hardware, software and business services across a wide range of market sectors.
We believe that freedom of choice is vital. Independence from any single hardware manufacturer or payment acquirer gives us the flexibility to offer products that are the best fit for you and your business, not the easiest sale for us.
Our focus has always been on accuracy, process and overall customer satisfaction. These core values provide a smooth transition into a genuinely "more than payments" business. Our wealth of knowledge has been built over years of collective experience within the payments industry, and is recognised and respected by our suppliers, network, partners, affiliates and, of course, the end customers we support daily.
Always at the forefront of an ever-changing payments technology landscape, we exist as a partner you can rely on to advise and assist you throughout the entire lifecycle of your payment solution requirements. Very few companies provide as comprehensive a range of technology and hardware solutions to meet the secure payment challenges facing your business.

We respect and value those we work with, and the contribution they make.
Integrity
We act fairly, openly and ethically in everything we do.
Service
We put our customers at the centre of everything.
Excellence
We use our energy, skills, resources and experience to deliver the best outcomes.

We are passionate about leaving things better than we found them.
By taking responsibility, something remarkable happens: our customers rely on us to deliver great solutions, brilliantly executed and on time. By creating definitive retail solutions that make business life easier, you'll find the payments part is just the start.
FAQs
Questions we hear a lot
Are you tied to one payment provider?
No. We work with a range of trusted service partners and recommend whichever setup best fits your business, not a single fixed product.
Do you offer EPOS systems as well as card payments?
Yes. Alongside card payment and merchant service reviews, we help you choose and set up EPOS and till systems for hospitality and retail, with plans from £49 per month per site. Our EPOS is powered by HDS Cloud Apps (Hospitality Digital Services).
What is the Zero Upfront EPOS deal?
It's a new way to get a complete EPOS system — hardware, installation, software licences and card terminal — with nothing to pay upfront. Payments are fixed over 24 or 36 months, with your first payment due two weeks after you go live. A standard credit check applies.
How quickly will you get back to me?
We aim to respond to every enquiry within one business day with clear next steps, not a sales script.
Which businesses do you work with?
We work with growing businesses across retail, hospitality and services throughout the UK and Ireland.
Is there a cost for your advice?
There's no cost to speak with us or get an initial review of your current payment setup. We'll always be upfront about how we work before you commit to anything.
Do I need to switch everything at once?
No. We can review a single area, such as your card payments or your EPOS, or look at your whole setup together, whatever is most useful for you.
Do you work with online-only or service-based businesses?
Yes. Alongside in-store card payments and EPOS, we help online, phone-based and service businesses set up payment links, gateways and recurring billing.
Which areas do you cover?
We work with businesses across the UK and Ireland, wherever your business and its customers are based.
What is a merchant cash advance?
It's short-term funding for businesses that accept card payments. You receive an upfront sum, then repay it as a percentage of your future card sales plus fees, so repayments flex with how your business is actually trading.
How does the Payment Systems Regulator affect my business?
The PSR's card-acquiring market review found that many merchants don't get good value from their provider, largely due to a lack of pricing transparency. We help you benefit from that push for transparency by making your options clear and easy to compare.
